19 weeks!

Today is: January 18th, 2013

How far along: 19 weeks 4 day (although my appointment was 19w1d)

Total weight gain: 6.6 pounds for the pregnancy. Womp, womp! My hope for only 25lbs is not looking very possible :(

Baby is the size of: A MANGO, approximately 6 inches long 8.5 ounces!

Baby is a: A BOY! This week we went for another QUICK look.  For the big reveal we went to an elective place.  She didn't get a great shot but we were confident that it was a boy- until I showed my OB the ultrasound picture and he said it could easily be a swollen girl.  Then I got on google and then more friends were saying the US looked more girl than boy so cue a freak out! I called the ultrasound place and the tech assured me on the phone that she was certain it was a boy but I could come in for a "2 minute" ultrasound.  We still didn't get the best look because, 1-I have an anterior placenta so the probe is having to go through it so see baby and 2- baby will NOT uncross his legs! Anyway, it looked much more boy to me :)

Maternity clothing: Most definitely

Sleep: Pretty good, waking 2-4 times to go to the bathroom but falling asleep pretty quickly after.

Movement: Thanks to the anterior placenta I'm still not feeling much. I sometimes feel him when I'm laying down on my side or sitting in the recliner.  I cannot wait to feel stronger, definite movements

Cravings/Aversions: Cravings? Soda (bad!), fruit, banana milkshakes, chocolate Aversions? Nothing really

- Heartburn. And acid reflux. Feel the burn!!!
 - Sore boobs-  Geez Louise! I don't remember them hurting this bad 1st trimester or even in the early breastfeeding days. My nips hurt if anything gets close to them!

How this pregnancy is different than the first:
-Feeling Good.  With Truitt I was already having back and hip pain but so far so good. I know I shouldn't say that and jinx myself

The best moment(s) of this past week:
-Hearing baby's heartbeat on the doppler at my appointment.  154! I can also find it really easy at home with our doppler
-Seeing Bennett again on the US, even if we only got a look at his bottom!
-Hearing T tell "Menit" hi all of the time
-Buying a "Big Brother" and "Little Brother" shirt set!

I'm looking forward to:
-Anatomy scan is February 12th
-Planning B's nursery
-Feeling baby move regularly

2 years old!

2 years old?!?! I cannot believe how quickly it goes by.  It makes me realize how much I need to cherish every minute.  My sweet toddler is an absolute joy and I cannot wait to see what he shows us next.  Every day is an adventure and we love seeing the world through his eyes.

Today we finally had his well visit.  He's been sick for two weeks but his doctor has been out and it wasn't really bad enough, long enough to see someone else.  Truitt is now 26.0lbs (with clothes and shoes on) which is 25% and the same curve he has been on for quite some time and 35.5in which is 90%.  He jumped up on height from 75%.  I honestly think it was 35.75-36in because the nurse didn't get his heel when she measured but oh well!  ***i just noticed I had typed 33in?!? Edited to correct it!***

Truitt is in 2T shirts, 24m pants (his length is ALL torso!), 7 shoes, and size 5 diapers!

I asked about his lack of desire for milk and Dr L isn't worried about it at all. He said as long as he has a diet with a lot of variety that includes yogurt, cheese, and beans (which happen to be three of T's favorites!) that we are ok.  A complete vitamin isn't necessary but if we'd like to give him one that's fine.

Truitt has well over 100 words and learns a few new words every week but he still has very few multi word phrases.  He does have quite a few two word phrases- fix it, bad dog, cheese stick, etc but no "I did it" "that's mine" "I love you."  Dr L said that at this point he isn't concerned at all but if he hasn't started with them in the next 6 months to come back in.

Other than that the visit went well and my boy is smart, healthy, and right on track for where he should be.  Truitt stopped nursing a week or two after turning 23 months.  He still refers to them as "night nights" and will latch on if he catches me without a shirt in the right spot (bath, bed, etc) but doesn't even try to get anything out, he just laughs.  He learned how to jump with both feet and now hops more than he walks it seems; he's just so proud of that skill! He consistently sleeps through the night going to sleep between 8 and 9pm and waking up at 8:30 almost daily.  He's in our bed but we are going to work on transitioning him into his own room sometime in the next 5 months.  Most days he will take one nap for about an hour and a half but some days, like today, he goes without.  He is a wonderful eater and rarely refuses any type of food.

Truitt, you are the best thing that has happened to me and I love you more than words can ever express!!!

It's a....

If you're a long time follower you know that my OB doesn't do the anatomy scan until 24weeks... That's two months after most people say when you can find out the sex of your baby.  I am probably one of the most impatient people so there's no way I'd be able to wait that long.  He offers a quick look at any visit after 16 weeks.  My next visit I'll be 19+1 so I was planning on doing it then BUT his office charges $99, it's on a crappy machine, and maybe a 5 minute US.  I started looking into elective places and found one for $65.  We got a 15minute scan, 5 black&white pictures, and were in a big comfy room. I'm 17 weeks and 4 days today.

I was pretty sure going into it that baby was another boy.  Based on the timing of conception mostly but also because I've always seen myself with two boys or two girls and since we were blessed with Truitt first I figured a baby brother was on the way.  Also, when we had our NT scan at 12weeks 1day, the tech guessed boy.  I didn't see anything either way and she was the same tech that said T was a girl at his scan but still.

So.... now I am going to introduce our baby....

BOY! Bennett Ford will be joining our family this June!

He looked great and was moving all around but I have yet to feel him definitely.  Come to find out I have an anterior placenta.  Little stinker!!!  Since it was an elective scan we didn't get any measurements but she did say he looks great and we heard his strong little heart beat at 158bpm! We are SO thrilled and cannot wait to meet this little guy in 5 months!!!

Truitt's 2nd Birthday Party!

Yes, yes I know I'm a terrible blogger and horribly behind!  I am waiting on T's well visit on Wednesday to update his 2 year post so here is his birthday party!!!
